My man, JP Soul from San Francisco, has just posted this hot boogie edit of "A Thief in the Night", available as a free download on Soundcloud for a limited time and it is hot, Hot, HOT! JP is preparing to relaunch SF's legendary Roam Recordings with limited edition vinyl releases followed up with full scale digital distribution. Past Roam releases include tracks by Hesohi, Justin Martin & Sammy D, (co-owner) Chad Mitchell, Lance Desardi as well as JP himself and future releases look just as promising. If you are in the Bay Area this Saturday (10/22), catch him, along with Mike Bee, Jason Greer and Darren Davis, at Vinyl Dreams at 222 Hyde, doing their all vinyl thang on that lovely Turbosound system. Also, if things work out right, I'll be joining JP back in the Bay on November 12th for a gig at Showdown SF!

For those on Wall St. and every other street that are looking to make something different happen. This is dedicated to you, the 99%, and to the movement. Stay strong.
I wanted the variety of artists on the mix to reflect the diversity of the movement that inspired the tape while having each track speak to one aspect of the movement, whether on a deep, angry, comical or uplifting level, or more of a middle finger in the air, i'm fed up level. I would be honored and humbled if anyone occupying our streets or the streets of cities around the world takes inspiration from this mixtape to continue to carry on the struggle. track listing :. 01. intro (dialog taken from chris hedges interview on c.b.c.) 02. Ooh Child (Anthony Mansfield Drunkstep Edit) As I'm sitting here at the airport in Philly, I thought I'd take advantage of the free wifi (!!!) and post a couple of links to my man, Anthony Mansfield, whom I'll be playing with at The Hydrilla this Saturday in San Francisco. Most of you will need no introduction but, if you still don't know, Anthony has been doing his thing for over 18 years now. Starting out on the west coast as a child of the Wicked parties, Anthony moved things over to the East side, making New York his base for 8+ years. In 2001, the dj formerly known as Anthony Garlic brought it back to the West Coast where he reconnected with dj M3 and the Green Gorilla parties as well launching the noted record label, Hector Works. At the top of this post is Anthony's Ooh Child edit, available for free download, and below is his lovely set from the infamous Sunset Campout, held each year in Northern Cali.
If you are in the Bay Area, come on out this Saturday and boogie with us! I'm very excited to be heading back to the Bay Area this weekend to see the old crew and to play some records. This Saturday, I'll be at dj, producer and old friend JP Soul's birthday shindig, Spank! (with Schnezzy & Sean Murray), taking place at Showdown on 6th Street. And then afterwords, it's all about the Hydrilla afterhours where I'll be dropping some tunes with the man, Anthony Mansfield from Hector Works. JP Soul and Kool Breeze will be in the house as well, laying down the funky grooves. I can't wait to see so many old friends again! Errrrrray!
