I just got in to Dublin from Ibiza last night and making some final preperations before heading out to Electric Picnic 2012! This party was a highlight of last summer and I expect more great things this year. The line up is killer and there will be so many more djs not even listed in the line up. If you are attending, I'll be djing Saturday in the Radio Shack. I think I go on at 7 or 8 and I'll do a two hour set. I'm still waiting to hear about another slot on Sunday as well so keep an ear out! Below is my set from the Picnic last year. If you're going, I hope to see you there! If not, listen to this and imagine you're there :)

This edit of the Inner City classic takes the Carl Craig remix and adds to it samples from a Willie Colon disco track, a 909 beat, filters and delay on overdubs of the original track and a bit of editing. I used to ride this acapela over so many tracks during my sets in the 90's and i finally got around to doing this edit that gives it the vibe i wanted. The new album from The XX, Coexist, will be out September 10th but the new single, Angels, is already available. Here is my new "Sente" remix for you all to download. Sente in portuguese basically means "feel it". Are you feeling it? If so, you can download it for free. Enjoy! I'm excited to be returning tonight to Honey & Venom here in London after having had the chance to play here a month ago. Joining me on the decks will be young up and coming producer/dj Miguel B and femme fatale Amy Dabs, in addition to Nice residents, Stuart and Pat. The venue is a great little dj bar with good sound and a nice outdoor area for the shmokers. Come early. Stay late. Let's Boogie!
The Notting Hill Arts Club first popped up on my radar via Ben Watt's legendary deep house night he held there in the late 90's, Lazy Dog. It was a pleasure to grace the decks of the legendary West London venue this past Saturday with my old Botafogo Social Club homeboy, Dan Markham, along with Rive from Portugal and Brazilian grooves collective, Segunda Geracao. Thanks to Dan for booking me, the staff for looking after me and to my friends who made it out!
Hats off to Bristol's Alfresco Disco crew for putting on a stellar festa last Saturday, August 4th. It seems like Brazil has been following me on this summer's tour and the party's theme of 'Welcome to the Sambadrome' kept with that notion. Three areas of music pumped out tropical flavored house, disco, downtempo and soulful grooves all day long, provided by Bristol's top selectors. The crowd came in costume and ready to get down; good vibes all around! Much thanks to the fellas from Alfresco Disco (Frankie & Luke) for bringing me out to play. It was a pleasure! Below, you can listen to and download my first set of the night, a fairly chilled affair featuring a bit of disco, house, funk, Brazilian grooves and the odd moombahton track, including many of my own edits and remixes. Enjoy! download here via sendspace Track listing:

This party takes place once a summer and always sells out. This years theme is "Welcome to the Sambadrome". I'll be playing two sets today. The first set is in the main room from 2:30 to 3:30 and then another set in the Bocabar upstairs from 4 to 5. If you're in or near Bristol, I hope you can make it out! |
